 Junior Millennium Youth Choir
Junior Millennium Youth Choir is a new choir for young choristers which provides Voice for Life training and vocal coaching.
Now entering its second year, JMYC is a choir for girls and boys aged 9 to 16 singing treble or alto. The choristers receive high-quality training from senior RSCM musical staff through the choir’s programme of workshops and singing days.
JMYC rehearsing, August 2018
JMYC is now expanding following its successful year in the North. Starting in February half-term, JMYC South workshops will be hosted in two venues in the south of England. Occasionally, JMYC members will sing alongside one of our adult, Regional Choirs (pages 14–15).
JMYC North is directed by Simon Russell, RSCM North of England Co-ordinator. JMYC South's director will be announced soon.

Intermediate Millennium Youth Choir
iMYC is formed from the oldest choristers that attend JMYC workshops (aged 12 to 16) and those with changing voices. Meeting for a residential course in the summer, they sing their own programme of music and services and receive further musical coaching. Older members showing good progress will be encouraged to audition for the Millennium Youth Choir.
Their 2019 summer residential course will be held in Norfolk, singing services in local churches and concluding with Choral Evensong with MYC in Norwich Cathedral. Details of the course will be published in due course with places offered first to eligible JMYC members.
For extra, specialised training for boys' changing voices, see: Bath Summer Course for Young People (page 9).
