Bath Summer Course for Young People
A summer residency for young singers, aged 8 to 23, with a strong ethos of community, sharing and, of course, great music. A wonderful place to learn the skills needed for moving on to iMYC, Voices Choirs or MYC.
A popular, long-running and unauditioned course hosted at
the beautiful Kingswood School in Bath led by an experienced team of tutors. Kingswood School stands above the beautiful city of Bath, and has excellent facilities.
A service in Kingswood School Chapel, 2018
Singers undertake a full programme including care and development of the voice, music tuition, Voice for Life training, recitals and choral services. Older singers will have opportunities to develop their musical leadership skills and are encouraged to take their new-found musical training and experience back to their choirs at home.
New to the course this year is a new house for boys with changing voices. Singers will be given specialist vocal coaching on their changing voice which will guide them from the front to the back row.
The course is directed by Cathy Lamb, Director of Music Outreach at Lichfield Cathedral School.
The course will be held 19–25 August 2019 and further details will be published here and on our website.
