 International Summer School 2019 Outline Timetable
Monday
Introduction from Hugh Morris, RSCM Director, and illustrated talk by Jon Cannon, expert on medieval religious architecture and presenter of BBC4’s How to Build a Cathedral.
Tuesday
A day in Norwich including an organ master-class or visit to St Julian's shrine culminating with an ecumenical service in the Cathedral of St John the Baptist.
Wednesday
Study day at Belsey Bridge, choices include composition workshops with Cecilia McDowall, composer, and Joel Payne, songwriter.
Thursday
An all-day excursion visiting the angel-roof churches of East Anglia led by The Revd Helen Bent, RSCM Head of Ministerial Training, and Dr Silas Wollston, early music specialist.
Friday
Study half-day including conducting master-class by Adrian Lucas, RSCM Head of Choral Studies, and vocal coaching followed by a visit to Benjamin Britten's house and Choral Evensong at Aldeburgh Parish Church.
Saturday
Optional free-day or excursions including Walsingham and a small-churches event led by Miles Quick, RSCM Head of Congregational and Instrumental Music, and Rosemary Field, RSCM Deputy Director The day ends with a gala dinner.
Sunday
Choral Eucharist at Norwich Anglican Cathedral alongside RSCM's Millennium Youth Choir.
RSCM's International Summer School 2019 is supported by Hymns Ancient and Modern.
