How can you help?
You can help in one or more of these ways:
• by serving on a Regional Panel which meets to arrange the RSCM’s programme of events. Panel members then manage local events with the help of other volunteers and the support of the Volunteer Team Leader.
• by helping to deliver our mission in your own location, assisting a Panel Member in running events and spreading awareness of RSCM’s work and offering.
• by loaning or giving, goods, services and/or skills; by helping to raise funds for the RSCM (a charity), or by donating venue-space for events to happen.
What will happen to me? I currently serve on an RSCM Committee
We don’t want to lose you: you are important to us. We would like you to re-sign up for the new system; you have to that to continue to work with us.
Current Committee members will become part of a region-wide group
of volunteers working flexibly alongside others according to their skills, availability and interests. Their work will be overseen by the Volunteer Team Leader, and the event organiser assigned to each event by the Regional Panel. The committees themselves will transform into more flexible gatherings of people, as required to successfully bring events to life. The focus is firmly on delivering the RSCM’s mission, but the ongoing connections with local musicians and supporters will be maintained. The Regional Panel is NOT a replacement Area committee!
We invite you to make your choice from a wide range of volunteering options (making volunteering with the RSCM more enjoyable for you and more productive for the RSCM).
For example if you are currently a Young Persons Officer, you may want to choose Pastoral Assistant. Publicity Officer, publicity related tasks, Social Media, creating flyers etc. but you may want to take the chance to take on a new role.
