Celebrating Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Contribution to Church Music – An Open Invitation to Singers in Churches, Schools, Choirs and Festivals to Join Us in Song

We are delighted to be working in partnership with The Vaughan Williams Charitable Trust, and the publishers of the Revised English Hymnal in a special initiative in this, Vaughan Williams’ 150th Anniversary Year.

As part of this special project we are asking churches, schools, choirs and communities to join us in song this October (8 – 15 October) to celebrate the distinguished contribution Vaughan Williams made to the heritage of church music.  We have put together a free media toolkit which includes a downloadable event template to help you to plan an event.  You can access the toolkit here.

This year sees the publication of the long awaited Revised English Hymnal and this has provided the basis for a free resource pack we have put together of hymns composed, arranged and harmonised by RVW, as well as his setting of Psalm 139. We have also provided a list of Vaughan Williams’ anthems that can be ordered from our web-shop here.

For further resource suggestions, see Sunday by Sunday Issue 101. The June edition of Church Music Quarterly also has a very interesting article by Jeremy Summerly about Vaughan Williams and The English Hymnal.
