Orlando Gibbons Anniversary Evensong (Round Byrd)
The RSCM accepts no responsibility or liability for any aspect of events publicised through this events process. All responsibility and liability is the sole responsibility of the event organiser(s).
Round Byrd is the occasional choir for St Mary's Ross (which also has two full time ones). It sings once a term, usually on Saturday for an evensong at 17:00 preceded by a rehearsal from 14.15. We specialise in English Choral music of the 16th and 17th Centuries. Membership is large in number and the area covered by members is also large. Singers come to the rehearsal having given as much preparation as they individually need, ready to polish the performance. Music provided and no charge, Great fun and a good standard. We also run a 'Come, Sing & Sup' termly programme where the music is less demanding and there is no expectation to prepare the notes in advance. Music is: Orlando Gibbons – Second Evening Service & See, See the Word is incarnate (large scale verse anthem).
