The Big Hymn Sing for Music Sunday

We are encouraging churches this year to put on a Big Hymn Sing for Music Sunday. These are really popular events and we have done the work for you in putting together a booklet that is words only and another with the music.

The content is drawn from the results of our recent poll of favourite hymns (see below) and also includes the new Music Sunday hymn, Sing to the Lord, a new song of creation, written by Dr Gordon Giles with music by Thomas Hewitt Jones. You can listen to the hymn, sung by the Choir of Royal Holloway below as well as an introduction by Thomas Hewitt Jones.

Alternatively, you might want to put together your own list with choir and congregation favourites.

You can register you Big Hymn Sing here. Send us your stories and pictures of your Big Hymn Sing by email, or tag us (@RSCMCentre) on social media. We look forward to hearing from you!

Big Hymn Sing

Hymns in the Pack

Sing to the Lord, a new song of creation (New)
O praise ye the Lord
In Christ alone
I heard the voice of Jesus say
There’s a wideness in God’s mercy
The day thou gavest, Lord, is ended
Love divine, all loves excelling
Angel-voices ever singing
Dear Lord and Father of mankind
Guide me, O thou great redeemer
How shall I sing that majesty

Hymns are listed in ascending order by number of votes with How shall I sing that majesty the winner by a large margin.
