Does your church need support to develop its choral music making?
The RSCM and Cathedral Music Trust appreciate the vital contribution made by church choirs to the world of choral and organ music, both through their regular music-making and the musical training they offer young people. Now in its fourth year, we created the Church Choir Award to recognise and support excellence in choral music-making by church choirs, and to give them the opportunity to innovate and develop their work.
‘I am delighted that RSCM is able to work in partnership with the Cathedral Music Trust in supporting the Church Choir Award. Finding new ways to innovate and help churches to grow is a vital part of enabling the flourishing of church music into the future’. Hugh Morris
The award is open to choirs which demonstrate high choral standards and an aspiration to go further, but do not usually qualify for the Cathedral Music Support Programme. Choirs are invited to apply for up to £10,000 for a specific, innovative or enriching project which will develop their work. Award holders will also receive one year’s group membership of RSCM and one year’s free access to the RSCM’s Voice for Life digital training programme.
There will be a webinar at noon on Wednesday 2nd April to give more information, particularly about how to apply and how to make your application stand out from the crowd.
