Simon Lole, Director of Music at St Mary’s Swanage, will share his insights from organising a monthly programme of ‘Come and Sing’ Evensong events. Including a discussion of choral evensong in our parishes today, the 'Come and Sing' format, type of repertoire, practical tips and pitfalls to avoid. Simon will also discuss the two collections of music he has complied for 'Come and Sing', including how you can deal with a lack of lower voices.

Simon Lole has worked at every level of church music – from chorister and then organ scholar at St Paul’s Cathedral, through the parish churches of Barking, Croydon and St Mary’s, Warwick to being Director of Music at two cathedrals – Sheffield and then Salisbury – and finally a year running a Cambridge College Choir – Jesus College. So, he is well placed to discuss evensong at every level!
