RSCM Celebration Day 2024
St Albans Cathedral
We were delighted to welcome so many people to St Albans Cathedral for this special service.
Approximately 150 singers were conducted by Dr David Hill FRSCM and accompanied by Andrew Lumsden on the organ. The Introit, Give us a Pure Heart, was particularly popular with the singers who enjoyed singing this with the composer, Christopher Willcock, present. Christopher had travelled over from Australia to collect his Fellowship of the RSCM Award. Other Honorary Award recipients had travelled from New Zealand and America as well as there being many home-grown recipients as well.
During the service not only were the Honorary Awards presented but we were also able to present a number of Voice for Life Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards as well as one of our Church Choir Awards.
We are most grateful to all those at St Albans for such a warm welcome and their help.
